#i'm kidding (maybe) but valentino wouldn't be (perhaps)#it is a kiss btw sete makes the appropriate sound effect and everything. very sweet very wholesome very gracious loser tm#//#brr brr#he makes for such a good foil because he's also so... idk image conscious but rather than use it he tends to get in his own way#complete contrast in their later narrativisation because they both identify a different turning point in their rivalry#(and for MY money they're BOTH overshooting by a few races)#and both make it about unsportsmanlike conduct from the other party. thing is they couldn't have reacted more differently#vale has a tendency with some rivals to play down how central they were to his career and it's not a coincidence (imo) that the biggest -#- victims are the two he had the best relationship with. marc isn't the strongest rival he ever faced. sete is dismissed completely#(which biaggi is to some extent too in that he calls his later rivals stronger but at least he allows biaggi his place in vale's story)#and like... buddy. prime!vale had 14 points in hand over sete with 3 rounds to go let's not pretend it was THAT comfortable my man#but that's what he does! and then sete by contrast makes it about moral injury which is a more flattering story than -#- 'yea he drew some pentagons and lit some candles and chanted a bit in latin and after that my bike would run out of fuel on the last lap'#obviously the relative amount they've discussed it post end of rivalry is completely lopsided but that's true of all but one vale rivalry#all that being said obviously sete did make it way too easy for valentino lmao. the hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby of psychological warfare#curse tag

I had the thought of Tom or Billy sniffing their new babies and I thought of you for some reason.

no bc billy loves the new baby smell. like from the minute you bring your baby girl home (he’s a girl dad, first and foremost, fight me. maybe he’ll have a son later on, but his first kid? a girl, the girliest of girls.) and she stops smelling like hospital (probably after her first bath… which was somehow both a chaotic scene and a warm, wholesome bonding moment for the three of you), he’s got his nose to her dome like all the time, just breathing in the newborn baby smell mixed with the lavender nighttime baby shampoo you two had cleaned her fluffy, downy hair with. at first, billy tries to be discreet about it, because he thinks it’s weird. however, when he catches you sniffing her too one night as you rock her to sleep, he realizes that maybe he’s not so weird after all… or maybe you two are just equally weird… but, billy thinks, if he’s weird in the same ways that you’re weird, then that truly wouldn’t be so bad after all because at least your brand of weird isn’t off-putting (in his opinion… you disagree on the grounds that 1) you don’t think his brand of weird is off-putting because you don’t think anything about him is off-putting and 2) you think you can be at least a little off-putting sometimes).
as for tom, i hc tom (at least the version of him from my older!tom au) as not ever having kids (simply because he doesn’t want to have them), but you can bet that anytime he meets one of his newborn nieces or nephews (he has quite a few siblings… which means he also quite a few nieces and nephews) for the first time, he’s always quick to cuddle up to them, cradling them gently in his arms (now that’s been through this whole thing a dozen or so times, he’s a pro at holding newborns), and luxuriating in their soft skin and sweet newborn baby scent.
#for those of you who think sniffing newborns is weird#you’re right but also have you tried???#they smell so good#it’s like if sleep was a smell#no.. its like if sleep and love and wholesomeness all got together and made a scent that perfectly captured all three of their essences#it’s delightful#plus like if you’re already holding them… it’s not like it hurts anybody to just.. take a lil sniff of ze baby dome#in the universe somewhere there’s a picture of me fast asleep holding my neice when she was a newborn#like with her head on my chest and me reclined back a bit in my dad’s lazyboy#and my nose is pressed up against the crown of her head#and this is the exact reason why#because i was luxuriating in all the lovely parts of having a newborn baby around (namely cuddles and sweet baby smell)#ask and i shall reply#lovely anons <3#cj <3#billy knight x reader#billy knight strike#billy knight#tom grant#tom grant x reader#tom grant (make up)#older!tom grant

Helloo, author! I just came back from the hospital, and now I have my beautiful daughter with me, named her Saturn. I know, right? HAHA. Time flies so fast and I'm crying 😭, but this must be my hormones.
Btw, she has green eyes! My husband's blue and mine's black, so HAHAHAHA, but what's worse is that she looks like an exact replica of my husband. 🤦♀️ You're her godmother, of course!!
I also graduated last year! Slapped the people who thought I'm too old for college. So far, I'm taking life at my pace. Whether I had my baby or getting into college in my 30s is not of anybody's business. I got my husband, my baby, and you, and you guys, and I can't take enough.
I have always been a silent reader, but I felt the need to share my life update with my family here in Tumblr. Hope you are well and healthy. Love youuu, Author!

finished baldur's gate 3. 11/10 game. incredible. amazing. play it if you can. I finally got to hug shadowheart (twice) and astarion is thriving and happy. beautiful. deserves all the awards. so glad to be alive at the same time as baldur's gate 3
#baldur's gate 3#when shadowheart pulled me in for a hug i could've cried#also getting to hug astarion again was so nice. he's so much more relaxed this time#he just radiates comfort and like he's used to being loved and aaaaaaa it means so much#it was wholesome and it wrapped stuff up well without feeling too blatantly fanservicey. it was in the sweet spot#larian are just crazy for this game. they have set a new standard#and with withers' little speech at the end I wouldn't be surprised if dlc will show up at some point
